Shakedown

As I mentioned previously, I called my Lakon Shipyard rep.

If I was going to head out to the stars to find whatever it was I was looking for, I needed to do it in something other than a freighter. Needed something with superior jump range.

Since I plan to be gone for quite a while and likely be far from anything approaching civilization, an Asp Explorer is the prudent choice.

I've never really been one for prudence. Also, I have a Diamondback Scout and love the damned thing to distraction. Picked up it's exploration-focused cousin - the Diamondback Explorer.

Me and a couple of grease monkeys I employ to maintain the fleet just finished up the needed modifications.

Only thing it's missing is a name.

About to head out of here for a shake-down cruise. Do a little exploration and scanning.

Maybe I'll know what to call it when I get back.
