Robardin Rock

Having a cold one at the bar in Robardin Rock. No pictures of the station from the outside. Was too busy trying to find the landing gear toggle. I'll describe it for you. It's a big assed rock with a hole in it.

The old S.A. Andree looks a little worse for wear. I don't think any of that is going to buff out.

Made the trip in a mere two days. Had enough of "explore all the things" to last me for a while. Just started a long range scan, circled the nearest star to top off fuel then jumped to the next waypoint - 587 times. The route plotter's weird behavior, I'm told, is how it was supposed to work all along so we definitely screwed it up when we installed it. One of the facility's grease monkeys checked it out and told me it would hold together for a while and to "stop kicking the goddamned thing".

Cashed in my exploration data. Turns out, "Explore all the things", is pretty profitable over the long haul. I'm sitting on 350,000,000 plus now and have a shiny new permit for Founder's World - A perk of being declared a "Elite" explorer. From what I hear about Founder's World, if it flies or fits in something that flies, it can be purchased there at a ten percent discount. Going to head that way and do a little shopping after my butt gets tired from sitting in this bar.

Oh, as I was musing at Sagittarius A, we indeed appear to be at war. There's a catch though. We aren't at war with each other. A fairy tale from the past has returned - Thargoids.

Personally, I thought they were something the powers that be invented to justify R&D spending. I guess they were real after all.

According to Galnet, they had somehow figured out a way to pull ships out of a frame shift jump and had been doing so over the last month or so. They'd scramble the systems on the ship, temporarily, scan it then fly off - Doubtless leaving the pilot with soiled trousers.

Then Federation capital ships were found with the stuffing knocked out of them.

Now they're attacking ships and apparently salvaging escape pods from them. Not quite sure I buy that part of the story. Sounds a little too fantastic.

Some eggheads have managed to construct weapons capable of harming them as our conventional ones only annoy them. Even so, you still need a small fleet of big ships to actually bring one down.

Life is about to get complicated.
